INTRODUCTION
-haiku ireland- was set up in 2004 by a group of haiku poets based in Ireland who share the same aims and accept the operating rules.
Membership is open to any persons who share our aims. Members are not required to be based in Ireland. See Join Uspage for more information.
-haiku ireland- organises regular haiku events such as ginko, workshops, haiku readings on-line activities and other events relating to haiku.

Kukai Rules and Principles
-Any member may send up to 4 haiku
-All haiku are collated and sent to all members for vote
-Votes: 5 pts for the 1st, 3 pts for 2nd and 1pt for the 3rd
-Members can vote even if they have not submitted any haiku
-No member is allowed to vote for his/her haiku
-Each voting member is also invited to comment on his/her first choice and to discuss one haiku (or more).
AIMS
- To foster the writing of haiku and its related forms to a standard of excellence and in a manner which reflects both its origins and best contemporary practice. To this end -haiku ireland- adheres to haiku guidelines similar to those adopted by haiku societies internationally, while welcoming diversity of style and content.
- To promote an appreciation of the place of haiku and its related forms within the broader literary world, and in the public consciousness.
- To contribute to the development of haiku in Ireland and internationally.
- To develop and sponsor cooperation between the Irish and the international haiku community (including other haiku associations).
- To offer membership to any persons who share our aims.
RULES
-haiku ireland- consists of a list of individuals with an interest in the haiku form of poetry, who pay an annual membership fee of 10 euros (€7 for concessions). See Join Us page for more information.
